This has been the worst term. I have spent nearly all of it in detention.
Elanor and I spent whole weekends trying to lift the jinx or the curse or whatever to no avail. Whatever it is we can't remove it. Last time I got sent to the Headmaster I burst into tears and told him the whole sordid mess. By the time he got done poking around I felt like a science experiment. Then he announced I was to be sent home. I spent all of last week in his office writing my term finals and my father picked me up this morning.
My father is furious. He won't even consider the possibility of Summer Camp. He's not even sure he will let me go to spend a week with El this summer - or my grandparents in France.
The Aurors are taking all of my things to removed the curses that were put on them - everything I own! No wonder El and I couldn't fix it. Who would do such a thing? That's a good question. I don't know if I mentioned that I received a care package from my friends at Beaux Batons. It was lovely and had all my favorite treats in it. The package arrived while everyone was gone - so I opened and read the cards and letters while waiting for people to come to the dorm and share the goods. As near as we can tell the entire package was laced with the curses. They bounced out of it and all over. El had a couple of them on her things and we removed those pretty quickly (it does explain that day in charms class though) once we knew what we were looking for, but I was sitting in the middle of my bed with the box and everytime I laid something on my bed that didn't have a curse one just jumped on.
My father sent a howler to the Headmaster of Beaux Batons - I can't imagine how that was recieved. But I'm sure I don't need to tell you - I get any more care packages - the Aurors get to open them first - even if that means I lose all the good chocolates!

A long dark week.
I can't imagine that no one missed me!
I was sent down to the dungeon to do some more detention. No one told me there was a labyrinth down there. Then to add insult to injury, I was caught (still trying to find my way out, I might add!) after hours and I received more detention. I swear I think someone has put a jinx on me. No one can get this much detention unintentionally. It's just not possible, even the Weasley boys can't get this much detention and they are trying.
I have finished my detention for that - I had to scrub the potions tables and sort the ingredients cupboard. So if I can manage to stay out of trouble for the rest of the day I will be able to have an evening free.
Tonight El and I ARE going to go for a walk in a bubble and I'm going to get her to help me look for the jinx and remove it. I have been too tired to look for it myself. The week that never ends
As if all the detention wasn't bad enough my Ravenclaw boy has found himself another girl - From SLYTERIN - apparently he is just looking for someone who will annoy his parents. I'd be mad - but what is the point of that?
While cleaning the Headmaster's office I had a chat with the Sorting Hat. He thought I was very interesting. I could talk to him so apparently he is a professor of some type. There is a lot of dust in that office. I have to go back today. But there was a lovely bag of wool on one of the chairs - with my name on it! It was so cool. I have been too tired to look at it much though. Anyway, I am looking forward to more chatting with the Hat - he knows so many stories. He told some funny ones about Papa when he was a second year. I don't think I will be able to not tell him I heard the story when I see him next. It certainly does explain his humor over my getting caught sneaking back into school.
One thing about not being able to chat with the other students - I'm getting caught up on my homework. I found a mistake in the sweater I'm knitting and I had to rip it back. That is SO annoying.
I am also making a bag for my swap partner! I'm so hoping she likes it. It's taking longer than I thought it would but it is turning out well. My other package items are all done. I have one set of stitch markers made - but I want to make another. And I have a surprise in the works as well.
There will be pictures but not before it all goes out in the post - must not ruin the surprise!

Yikes!
I managed to sneak away for a few minutes to jot a quick note.
NEVER get caught sneaking back into Hogwarts after you got away with sneaking out. Prof. Trelawny caught me as I came up the passage way. I can't even imagine how she did it. I was only a few feet from the Slytherin common room - with school books. I had a great story - who wouldn't believe I had been studying with some chums from last year? Other than Trelawny, I mean.
Walked me right straight to the tower and dumped me on Dumbledor's rug. I've been doing double and triple detention every since. I'm only allowed off for classes and homework - and then not even the time it takes to do the homework - only some prearranged time that is not enough. It's draconian. Do you have any idea how many bathrooms there are in this place? I do not know where they found the 1/8 inch square tooth brush either. I NEVER need to see another grout line EVER.
I haven't even been allowed to talk to El and find out what happened. Did you know that Dumbledor can put a spell on you that doesn't allow you to talk except to answer a question from a teacher? I haven't been able to get a second glass of any beverage all week. If I can get someone's attention or catch a plate going by I can get some food on my plate, and to be fair the house elves are making sure there are good things on it when meals start, but other than that - not even a tart!

House Quiz
1. Do you knit or crochet? Knit
How long have you been at your craft? 37 years
2. Do you spin? What type of spinning do you do? yes - all of it, just not all of it well
3. Are there any other crafts that you participate in? sewing, needlework and weaving. If there are fiber and tools involved I'm in favor of doing it
4. What are your favorite yarns/fibers? anything found in nature
5. What are your LEAST favorite yarns/fibers? acrylic
6. Are there any types/brands of yarn that you are dying to work with but haven't gotten a chance? I can't say that there are. I have managed to try everything I've wanted to, if only to make a swatch
7. What are you currently working on? a couple sweaters, some socks, a hat or two
8. Are their any knitting/crochet techniques that you would like to learn? I haven't heard of any I haven't tried yet.
9. Do you have a yarn winder and/or a swift? i have both
10. Where/how to you keep you needles/hooks? i have lots of different storage methods. I am still searching for the perfect me method.

Well That's annoying! (and homework)
My father sent a portkey to bring me home (that is not the annoying part - wait for it). It was quite fun although Granmere was quite worried that I wouldn't make it and apparated after me to make sure I made it safely. She and father got into a bit of a fight. Her english is worse than his french so I'm not really sure what they were arguing about. I just hauled by trunk to my room and unpacked my summer things and repacked school things. Pere had already gotten my school books and other supplies for me. I missed the shopping but since I was never going to talk my grandparents into letting me come back a day earlier there was no way I would make it. As it is I have missed the Hogwarts Express (again) and Pere has arranged to take me back by portkey this evening.
I have a letter from Dumbledor. In spite of my excellent (his word) agrument I am not going to be sorted by the Sorting Hat. I would stomp my feet - but I've learned that never works to get what one wants. How truely unfair is that anyway! Everyone else gets to be sorted! Merde!
But I am Prefect this year (what ever that means) and have been moved to Hufflepuff. I am moving with Elanor, which is nice. This will be her third house. I am starting to wonder what the Sorting Hat makes of her anyway. It must has spit out a list and terms for her sorting. Apparently it was decided that she and I had become such good friends and worked well together they would keep us together. I sent a message by owl to my Ravenclaw boy - who is, amazingly enough, still in Ravenclaw. Of course since he is already at school he probably knew before I did.
I have a new knitting project! I am absolutely in heaven with it. It took me a very long time to decide I wanted it enough to save my allowance and purchase it. The little leaves are simply adorable. They alone are worth the price of the kit. I love love love knitting them. I can't wait to start the socks. I have a couple of other things I must finish first - but these leaves are my favorite project ever. As soon as I get settled in school I will get some picture of them to share with you.
I do hope Elanor has left me some room in the closet this year.

Term Approaches
I spent the break with my mother's parents. It was fun, but my Tante Nina blew up my journal.
I am heading back to school this weekend. I still haven't heard from Dumbledor about the sorting. I got my letter and supply list - Father has already purchased all my supplies for me. My grades were excellent and he was very pleased.
El sent a few owls during the break. The treats were quite good, but I miss seeing her. It will be so nice to see her again. I don't know how I will manage if I'm selected for a different house. It will be so very odd to not share a room with her.
I am to travel back to Father's house by portkey tomorrow. And I will arrive at school on Sunday. I can hardly wait to see everyone.
